Graham W. Jackson was once a man well known across the country and globe for his amazing musical talents. In this presentation I will discuss his multitude of achievements and awards in order to bring together his whole life story. I have completed this research to bring him back into the public eye, as he has been mostly forgotten by history since his death in 1983 despite the spotlight he held throughout his entire lifetime. To put together his story I have unearthed and examined newspaper articles, looked through images, and viewed collections of his promotional materials, certificates, and legal documents. During his life Jackson was able to break down barriers of segregation in Atlanta, GA, before the civil rights movement by means of the shared human connection of music. He performed music for both black and white audiences and he was given opportunities to perform for famous people throughout the United States such as five Presidents of the United States and several Governors of Georgia. In addition to his musical performances, Jackson had an illustrious military career during World War II as a recruiter for the U.S. Navy.
